Questions About Personal Organizers

What is a Professional Home Organizer?
Professional Home Organizers are experts at organizing the spaces in your home. They are skilled at helping you get the most out of the space you have in order to make your home functional, beautiful and peaceful. Not only do Professional Home Organizers create a place for all of your possessions, they also create systems to help you maintain the organization they establish in your home.

Why hire a Professional Home Organizer?
Organizing projects can be overwhelming when you try to tackle them on your own. It is hard to know where to start and hard to establish order that will last. Professional Home Organizers see your project with fresh eyes and offer you new ideas. Their energy and enthusiasm for the project is likely to be contagious and you will probably find yourself enjoying the process. The money you spend will result in the job getting done sooner, faster and more effectively than if you try to do it on your own in the midst of your busy life.

What is the difference between organizing and cleaning?
Organizing involves finding a place for things to belong and creating systems for dealing with new items that come into a space. Cleaning involves putting things away and getting rid of dirt and grime. A well organized space is easier to clean because every item has a home so picking up and putting things away takes little effort and there is less clutter to work around when removing dirt and dust.

How much will it cost?
Hourly rates are listed on the services page. Total number of hours needed will depend on several factors including the size and complexity of the job, how much time you work beside me, how much work you do between sessions and how quickly you make decisions about what to keep and what to discard.

Is it worth the money?
Late fees on misplaced bills, unintentionally buying duplicate items and having to replace lost items are just a few of the costs of disorganization. Being organized will save you unnecessary expenses like these and give you things that are hard to put a price on including peace of mind and more free time.

What types of projects can you help me with?
I can help you with just about any area of your life that is disorganized. I can help you organize spaces in your home, emails on your computer, paperwork, your finances, holiday decor, children's toys, children's art and school projects, your schedule and so much more. Not only do I help you organize what you already have, I can help you create systems to deal with new items that come into your home so that your home remains organized and peaceful.

Will you work with me or just coach me?
Your level of involvement is up to you! If you want to do most of the work between appointments I am happy to act primarily as a coach for the project. Working side by side is another great way to get the project done quickly and thoroughly. If you prefer a more hands-off approach I can do all of the work for you and even come back periodically to maintain the organizational systems I put in place.

Do I need to be present for the project?
You do not need to be present for the entire project but the more involved you are in the process, the more I will be able to tailor it to your specific needs and wants and it will be easier for you to successfully maintain the organization on your own.

What if I don't live on Oahu?
I offer coaching and virtual organizing assistance! Scroll to the bottom of the services page to learn more about this service and see if it's right for you.

Will my session be confidential?
Absolutely! I will never share your personal or business information with anyone. I will not even reveal that you are a client unless you give me permission to do so.

What if I feel embarrassed about letting you see my mess?
I am not here to judge you, but to help you. I understand that life is complex and things happen and life can easily get out of control. Where you see an embarrassing mess, I see an exciting new project and would love a chance to share my enthusiasm and expertise with you. And remember, my work with you is always confidential.

Who will I be working with?
Lisa is the lead organizer on all projects. I may work with an assistant on your project but I will be the one doing the planning for your space and seeing each project through to completion.

What hours do you work?
I generally schedule clients between 9am and 2pm, Monday through Thursday. However if these times do not work for you I will work to accommodate your schedule.

How do I get started?
Contact me via email or give me a call and I will get you started with a free phone consultation to discuss your needs and answer any questions you have.
