I love to see my friends' and family's smiling faces and I don't want to just throw the cards away but I also don't want them becoming clutter in my home. There are a lot of options for displaying these cards and I have tried a number of them over the years that worked okay but weren't perfect.
A few years ago I came across a great idea on Pinterest that I have been using ever since. I make the photo cards into simple books that I can keep on our coffee table all year long. My kids especially like sitting down and looking at all the photo cards and reminiscing about times spent with the people in the pictures and it really helps them stay connected with our friends and family who live far away.
To make the books I punch holes in all the photo cards and use lose binder rings to put them together. I take a Christmas greeting card and use it as the cover and write the year on the front. The cards get enjoyed without taking up a lot of space or making our space look cluttered. Each year old books get packed away with our Christmas decorations and we just keep out the book with cards from the current year. Then when Christmas comes around all the books are back out in a basket on our coffee table.
